Pearl's Grandparents were Sarah Frances (Varnadoe) and John B. McDonald .  

The name Pearl comes from the Varnadore family. In 1811 Samuel Varnadore Sr. and his family migrated from Jones County, Georgia to Mississippi. Along the way they had to ford the Pearl River and that is when Sam's seventh child was born. Can you guess what the baby was named?
